A group of 17 persons traveled to Heifer Project Ranch for a week-long mission experience last summer. A night was spent in a global village in order to experience life from the perspective of a resident in a third world country. Heifer Project was founded in the early part of the 20th century to help persons, in underprivileged countries, to have resources and skills to sustain life. Animals are given and families are taught how to care for them. They use the animals to provide meat, milk, materials, muscle, motivation, money, and manure. With Heifer’s proven approach – almost 60 years in the making – people obtain a sustainable source of food and income.
