Stewardship
The Stewardship Committee expresses appreciation for all who returned their estimate of giving card toward the mission and ministry of our congregation for 2008. To date we have received 121 estimates totaling $289,979. Cards may still be submitted and are available throughout the church or by calling the church office at 331-3840.

November 18 was a great day as this congregation took its place in history by celebrating the retirement of a $2.4 million building debt and participated in the dedication of Wesley Center, the renovated sanctuary and education buildings.
In 1914 the congregation built the current sanctuary building. Forty-seven years later the congregation funded the construction of the education building. 46 years following this addition, our current congregation has built Wesley Center and renovated the other existing facilities. We have done our part to take First United Methodist Church into the next 50 years of ministry. It truly was a great day in the history of this congregation.
At both the 8:30 and 10:45 am. worship, there was a service of dedication for all the building and remodeling done over the past seven years. Wesley Center, the Sanctuary, Gault Chapel, new offices, the elevator, and all other remodeling was dedicated. Reverend Gary Brooks and Jeannie, our former pastor and his wife, joined us.
Our celebration concluded with an all-church Thanksgiving meal at noon in Wesley Center. Sherry Epp coordinated the meal.
Everyone pitched in and helped and the work became joy and the result was great fellowship. We worked together to provide a delicious dinner for our church family and celebrated and gave thanks for all God has done for us!
