The Bones of LOGOS
"LOGOS will not succeed without the following 'bones' and more than a person's body will function without the skeletal structure."
The seven "bones" are one way to summarize the components of the program:
(1) Midweek (2) Four Parts (3) Pastoral Leadership (4) Parental Commitment (5) Worship Participation (6) High School Priority (7) Fees
For LOGOS, the "skeletal Bones" are:
-
Everyone participates in all four, parts of LOGOS, every week.
-
Everyone participates in Sunday worship, every week.
-
There is ongoing pastoral leadership and participation.
-
Parents make a commitment to the annual parents' meeting and to the weekly experience.
-
Midweek is the time for scheduling LOGOS.
-
The program is supported by fees paid by participating families.
-
High School is where the cumulative effects of LOGOS reach their fullest potential.
-
The program is staffed through the call process, not recruitment.
Just as a body has structure, with the bones, so also does the body have flexibility. However, the flexibility is a result of the structure. No structure, no flexibility. LOGOS will not work effectively if any or all of it's "bones" are broken. Like any wonderful body, Logo's is a marvelous bend of structure and flexibility (Dale K. Milligan)
